Healthy natural habitats support wildlife, climate resilience, water quality and community wellbeing.
They also give people places to connect with nature, learn and take pride in their local environment.
Our work focuses on improving biodiversity across our own sites, restoring habitats with partners and helping communities access and enjoy blue and green spaces.
Supporting Branch Out partnerships
We run a scheme called Branch Out, which supports local environmental projects that improve habitats, strengthen biodiversity and connect communities with nature.
Between 2020 and 2025, Branch Out supported 105 partnership projects, awarded more than £1 million of funding, created or enhanced 260 hectares of priority habitat and engaged more than 335,000 members of the public.
Branch Out will continue through AMP8, with £3.3 million of funding to 2030.
