Regulating for the long-term
Our economic regulator, Ofwat, has set out a strategic objective for the next price review to have a long-term focus.

We believe this long-term focus is enormously positive for the entire sector, our customers and the environment on which we are so dependent. As an organisation, we want to play an active part in building strong long-term strategies so that this can become an enduring part of the regulatory framework going forward.

To help the discussion on building the blocks of a developing regulatory landscape, we have produced four papers giving our thoughts about how water regulation could evolve to retain and improve that long term focus. We hope these will be a useful consideration as the methodology for this price review is being finalised later this year.

The four papers, are linked below and, look at:

  • The long-term resilience of the asset base;
  • Attracting long-term investment; and
  • The approach to regulating Net Zero; and
  • Customer engagement
