Water Apprenticeships

We’ve launched our water apprenticeship programme to help us in ensuring we deliver great high-quality drinking water and keep the water flowing across our operating regions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a NWG and really kick start your career.

How will it work?

Each month you will spend 1 week learning about water treatment, this will be delivered at one of our sites by an external apprenticeship training provider. The rest of your time will be spent in the workplace gaining hands on experience.

What will I do?

We are looking for you to develop in to operating the treatment process. You will learn to use our electronic system to operate and monitor the process along with responding to alarms and alerts. You’ll be developed in adjusting water production volumes to meet customer water demand, while complying with chemicals.

What will I study towards?

You’ll study towards a Level 3 Water Treatment Process Technician qualification over the 2 year duration of the apprenticeship.

What will I need?

• An interest in learning and gaining work experience within the water industry
• Strong emphasis on health and safety, ensuring the well-being of all
  team members and customers 
• Practical approach to support manual activities, including moving tools and equipment
