Kind-hearted people from across the North East have helped raise more than £30,000 to transform lives in Madagascar.
Around 200 people got their groove on at Northumbrian Water′s ‘Summer of Love′ Ball in aid of WaterAid.
A variety of fundraising activities, including a silent auction were on offer for guests at the sixties-themed event, which took place at Newcastle′s Crowne Plaza Hotel last week.
The money raised will go towards WaterAid projects in Madagascar, where the water company′s charity partner is working to transform the lives of families by installing taps and toilets in communities where there are none.
Organiser and Northumbrian WaterAid volunteer, Stef Chester, said: "We′re just blown away by the kindness and the generosity of those who attended the Ball.
"The night was a great success and to see guests wearing their long wigs and bell-bottom flares while having fun and battling it out on the silent auction was just fantastic. They were literally helping us to transform lives.
"The money we′ve raised will make such a huge difference to families who don′t have a tap to turn on or don′t have a toilet to flush and I want to thank all of our guests, our partners and our sponsors for allowing us to make that possible.
"I′d also like to thank the team of volunteers who helped with the planning and running of the event, without them it wouldn′t have happened!"
