The North East water company recently announced that it′s bringing the festival back to the region again in July, and is partnering up with Newcastle Racecourse as the official location for the event.
2019 will see the festival held on the 812-acre High Gosforth Park estate for the third time, with more than 3,000 attendees and 1,000 local school pupils through the turnstiles and taking part since its launch in 2017.
Over the five-day event, held between 8 to 12 July, guests will come up with ideas and solutions to help tackle major social and environmental challenges, and explore innovative ways to change the world.
Festival organisers are expecting this year to be the biggest yet, and with its unique layout and zero waste initiative in operation during the festival, Newcastle Racecourse will take centre stage.
Nigel Watson, Northumbrian Water Group Information Services Director, said: "We′re really excited to be back at Newcastle Racecourse, which continues to provide the perfect venue for our Innovation Festival.
"We′re the front-runner when it comes to innovation in the water industry and 2019 will be no exception, with this year′s festival once again putting the spotlight on the innovative culture within the company.
"Preparations are well underway and we′re busy working with the racecourse to make sure everything is ready for our guests. We′re expecting thousands of people from across the globe to attend this third annual event and another successful week will be a sure bet for festival-goers."
Previous Innovation Festivals have seen representatives from some of the world′s leading businesses and most innovative companies gather to take part in the festival, including; Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Arsenal football club, O2, IBM and Ordnance Survey.
Paul Elliott, General Manager of Newcastle Racecourse, said: "We are delighted to be appointed the host venue of the Innovation Festival for the third year running.
"It′s a privilege to be a part of such a forward thinking event, which brings together an array of leading businesses with the future minds of their industries. Following two fantastic years, we look forward to another exciting and inspirational event this July."
Northumbrian Water received the Transformation and Innovation award at the 2018 Utility Week awards last month in recognition of the innovative culture within the company.
