Northumbrian Water is investing around £7 million in upgrading three of its water treatment works in Northumberland.
The water company is planning to replace three existing water treatment works at Byrness, Rochester and Otterburn as part of its ongoing investment programme to ensure the highest level of water quality and customer service.
It is intended that the new works will be located adjacent to the existing buildings in each location and that the existing works will be demolished following successful commissioning of the new works.
Customers in the area are invited to come and meet the project team, view the plans and have their say on the proposals at a customer event taking place on Tuesday, September 12 at Otterburn Memorial Hall, Main Street, Otterburn, NE19 1NP between 3:30pm and 7:00pm.
Northumbrian Water’s Project Manager, Hedley Young said: “It is important that we continue to invest in our network to ensure we deliver the highest levels of service to our customers and that we have the capacity to continue doing this long into the future.
“All of the work on these projects will be contained on our sites, but we will be working to ensure local residents are aware of the nature of this investment and how it will support their community.”
