Northumbrian Water’s fantastic ‘Make My Day’ campaign of kindness is back for 2017 and is promising to be bigger and better than ever before.

‘Make My Day’ is the company’s way of showing its customers just how much they care about them and how important they are to the business...through random acts of kindness!

The five day campaign will run during National Customer Service Week (Oct 2-6) and the aim is to make as many people’s days as possible, in as many different ways as possible.

From giving away chocolate to members of the public, surprising people with bunches of flowers, donating volunteer time to help local charities or sending families on trips away - it’s all about putting a smile on people’s faces and, well…making their day.

Last year’s campaign saw over 1,000 of our customers from across the whole North East receive gifts, donations and surprises from staff at Northumbrian Water.

It went down such a storm with customers that the company is doing it all again for 2017, but slightly different - this year it’s all about ‘paying it forward’.

People are being invited to nominate any person, or group of people, who they think are amazing, who deserve a little treat and to have their day made.

All they have to do is visit www.makemyday.live and tell Northumbrian Water who they’d like to surprise and how they’d like the company to do it.

It can be anyone – a friend, family member, work colleague or team, a local charity or community group, and it could be anything – a cake, shopping vouchers, a day trip out or help with their garden!

Be as creative as you like, log on to the website and nominate someone you think deserves to have their day made and you never know, they might be getting a nice surprise in October!

People have to be quick, though, as nominations for ‘Make My Day’ are only open between 30th August and 12th September and once closed there will be a judging panel who will choose the lucky winners.

Keep an eye on Northumbrian Water’s Facebook page and Twitter account for more information on ‘Make My Day’ and to find out what other fun things are in store for customers during National Customer Service Week.

Claire Sharp, Northumbrian Water’s Customer Service Director, said: “Customers are at the heart of everything we do as a business and ‘Make My Day’ is the perfect way for us to do something fun and different to show them just how valuable they are to us.

“If you know anyone who you’d like to nominate for a surprise then get onto the website and send us their details and we could end up making their day!”
