Northumbrian Water is once again getting ready to tee off and golf for good causes this summer.

North East golfers have the chance to take part in the 30th Annual Pro-Am Charity Golf Tournament organised by the water firm, to support its commitment to raise £1 million pounds for WaterAid.

The tournament will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 at MacDonald Linden Hall Hotel in Northumberland, where proceeds from the day will help to deliver clean water, sanitation, and good hygiene to Madagascar.

Professional golfers from the North East / North West Professional Golfers' Association will join golfing teams at the event, which begins with a shotgun start at midday and finishes with an evening meal and awards presentation. For a team of three, the entry cost is £550.

Jennie Collingwood, Head of Marketing and External Communications at Northumbrian Water said: “We’re so proud to be celebrating an incredible thirty years of our charity golf tournament, raising vital funds for our partners WaterAid every year.

“Access to clean water and sanitation is an extremely important right that too many people across the world don’t have, but thanks to those who attend our annual golf tournament, we can be one step closer to WaterAid’s goal of a world where everyone, everywhere has safe water and sanitation by 2030.”

Northumbrian Water is dedicated to raising £1 million pounds for Madagascar, for the 13 million people living there without clean water and the 24.2 million people without a decent toilet.

Over the years, Northumbrian Water has raised over £10 million for WaterAid through their fun events and challenges – from their prestigious WaterAid Ball, to cleaning the loos at Glastonbury!
