Safety is part everything we do here at Northumbrian Water and so we’re thrilled to have received an award in recognition of our commitment to it from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Since 1993, RoSPA has given out awards each year for outstanding performance in health and safety by a company or organisation within a particular industry or sector and we’re delighted to have received the ‘highly commended in the water industry’ award for 2018.

The award is fantastic recognition of our successful ‘Everyone home safe every day’ campaign and our staff taking a safety first approach to everything they do.

Brett Stinton, Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality said, “It’s a great acknowledgement for how things have progressed with our safety culture and shows that our focus on 60 second checks, safety conversations and safety shares is taking us in the right direction and setting us apart from other companies in our sector”.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, added: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
