One of the North of England’s leading tourism destinations, Landal Kielder Waterside, has been presented with a top industry award by domestic holiday giant Hoseasons.

The site, located in the heart of Northumberland National Park on the banks of Kielder Water, Northern Europe’s largest manmade lake, was named Best Large Relax and Explore destination in the North of England for the second year running.

Earlier this year, Landal Kielder Waterside enhanced its appeal to visitors with the launch of a new range of premium, five-star lodges, featuring swim spas, star gazing pods, BBQ huts, hot tubs, games consoles, Bluetooth speakers and underfloor heating.

The holiday company’s 12th Gala Awards evening, which showcased the very best of Hoseasons’ self-catering lodge and holiday parks across the UK, took place at the Celtic Manor resort in Wales.

The award is the latest accolade to come Landal Kielder Waterside’s way, following a VisitEngland ROSE Award, in recognition of excellence in customer service, and a Special Distinction Award in the 2017 David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme, for its Osprey Watch activity.

Speaking after collecting the award, David Hall, Northumbrian Water’s Head of Leisure Strategy and Transformation, said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised in this way and the award reflects the hard work that is put in by the team at Landal Kielder Waterside to ensure customers have the best experience possible.

“2017 has been a brilliant year for us, with the launch of the new lodges, some exciting new events, such as KielderFest and the Wild at Kielder Festival, and so much more. Being named Best Large Relax and Explore destination in the North of England helps us to prepare for another bumper year in 2018.”
